Why is the Corsair 2700 so damn expensive?

Well, I guess its b/c they use hand-picked, proven modules and perform extensive testing on their products. The same thing with Kingston - it's significantly more expensive than generic RAM. I've been a generic RAM user since I built my first PC... I used M.tec, NCP, Jetram memory and it proved to work great, though it was cheaper. Never had a problem with generic ram.

its one of the newest modules out there and has to be very high quality to pass for pc2700 even tho its just an overclockable pc2100 dimm iirc...
pc2700 hasnt gotten official specs from jedec yet...

I just bought 768MB of Corsair PC2700. According to newegg it's CAS2 @ PC2700 so it should be f-a-s-t!

I have the samsung pc 2700 from the same place, I can force 1.5-1.5-1.5 on my i845 and its rock solid.

No, just forced the settings in the BIOS. Everything is running stock right now, not pushing it until later when I need it, or I get an itch. ;):):D

Sides I have a 180W PSU I don't want to burn it up...
