Why is the avatar incorrect on some threads?

See below, why are all the posters having the OP's avatar on this thread? It doesn't seem that way on most other threads. Zinfamous has an avatar of a guy in overalls and a hat. But here, it is a cartoon with crossed arms. This happens to all posters in this thread.



Here is another example; Ranulf has a letter R as the avatar.

Check out some of my threads in Hot Deals. When I post an IMG inline, as the first item on a thread, the thread gets the image as an icon.

I assume that what you are describing is something similar.

This has been happening for awhile now.
Avators not showing, yet attached pictures were shown?

Just sometimes though, at least in OT. The first pic in the post replaces the avatars of the OP & the last poster. Once you go into the thread you can see the real avatars.

It's a bug in the forum software that has been there since they switched to this new software. If the first post contains an image, it will use that image as the poster's avatar as well as in the preview of the last poster.
