Question Why is that after all these years Microsoft has never figured out networking?

Microsoft sucks at networking. All my Unix/Linux systems connect all the time, and stay connected, but Microsoft not so much.

Why is that?

Consumer vs professional products. Linux/unix never messed around with half-broken stuff. It either worked or it wasn't released. Linux has changed that somewhat, but the core principles are still there.

You really provided a lot of information on the issues. Without knowing the issues we have no idea if it is windows or something else.

I've not had any non-self inflicted network issues in general in many years. The majority of the issues that I see are consumer wifi routers.
