Why is spring break in winter?

Heh, 88 degrees here in Ft. Lauderdale, what is this "winter" you speak of?

our spring break starts teh 11th or march.

its a balmy 42 here in central PA. and im goin home to Upstate NY for break. where it is currently a wooping 37

We called this last break "Winter Break", the one coming in April is "Spring Break"

Well, my Spring Break starts March 21st, 1st day of Spring. Makes sense to me. Btw, its nice and sunny outside about 70 if there wasn't any wind (cold wind).

Yea its in the upper 70's here in Gainesville... Im from Coral Springs though, its always 10degrees warmer down there :)

b/c it's cold everywhere and your supposed to go south where it's warm. Plus, we already have thanksgiving break in the fall and spring happens to be at the end of winter... talk to mother nature about that last one ^_^

I'm in Texas, and I'd like to advise you all not to come "south" for spring break, unless you can find something to do in 50°F weather.
