I'm just pointing out which party is on the wrong side of racism.

Party that fought against equalizing rights for blacks: Democrats.

Party that imprisoned japanese us citizens because they were japanese: Democrats.
In more breaking news women are responsible for all the evil in the world. After all Eve took a bite from the apple. At least according to the @blackangst1 sense of history.

Republican Party supported the following...

birtherism
If a judge is Mexican that makes them incapable of doing their jobs.
Most Mexican immigrants are rapists and murderers.
Denigrating a presidential candidate solely on the basis of being black.
retweeting white nationalists.
White nationalist supporters working right in the White House.

You don't need legislation, just look at their actions.

Ah yes. Because the fringe defines the whole party huh? Feel that way about De,ocrats?

When people who desire less government, have more government forced upon them, then it is by definition no longer by, of, and for the people.
So if there's one billionaire who buys his own police, fire department and roads, but the voters want these to be public goods, it no longer "government by, of, for the people"? Solid logic

So the majority of Democrats believe its OK to kill Americans without a trial? I didnt know that.
So do you and the rest of Republicans. At least in the case of Obama its Americans fighting with terrorists against the US vs just some random person on the streets of NYC. We have enemy combatant laws on the book. You know, the law created by Republicans. Don't like it change the law.

You claim Democrats own racism because of stuff that happened 90 years ago. I just went back a little further.

Your sense of history
It appears that your point is that history doesn't matter to current events. Is that correct?

I think his point is that the ideology of the Democratic and Republican parties have changed drastically over the years. I'm a Democrat because I'm liberal, I'm not liberal because I'm a Democrat. If the Democratic party changed their platform and started embracing racist conservatives then I would no longer be a Democrat, but I would still be liberal. I know both you and @blackangst1 understand this point.

Calling out a political parties platform 100 years ago (or even 50) is just silly and serves no purpose. Focus on the ideology, because that's what people care about.

So dishonest. Harry Truman integrated the military.
I had a great convo with an old high school friend on FB some time ago. He's a Trumper with big-time Hillary Derangement Syndrome, and he posted a meme of John Robert Fox, the first African-American to be awarded the Medal of Honor, as 'proof' that racism no longer exists in America. So I asked, very politely, if he knew why Fox wasn't awarded the Medal of Honor until 1997, even though his meritorious actions occurred in 1944. The answer, of course, was Hillary, who fought to have African-Americans awarded that highest honor finally, over the strong objections of military brass and Republicans in Congress.
Similar events occurred with the Japanese internment, when Democrats in Congress finally succeeded in getting reparations to those who had been affected over the strong objections of Republicans.

Or.. why my liberal grandfather was a Republican and my conservative grandfather was a Democrat.

Sure it matters when used appropriately. He was twisting/conflating history to fit his narrative. Dishonest at best
