Aren't there other 'artificial' limits on total amount of RAM used depending on the system board and cache?

I had 256KB of L2 cache on an older P200 running W95a and was told that any increase in memory above 64MB would actually cause a slight decrease in performance in normal applications.
CAD/CAM, heavy photo editing and large spread sheets being notable exceptions.

My Intel 815e is already max'd out with 2 256MB PC133 DIMMs from Crucial.com, I paid $89.24 for each 256MB which a few months ago was a great price.

Now you can buy 512 (256x2) of Infineon RAM for $112.98 shipped from Amazon.com
