OP, suggest you change your auctions in the future to mainland US only, or CONUS only, if you want to keep this from happening again.
In the 90's, I lived in Guam, also a US territory. I won an auction one time, where the seller stated the same thing you did, US & Canada only. When I gave him my mailing address, he accused me of bidding on an auction that I shouldn't have, because of his geographical limit he'd imposed. I had to teach him his geography & history lessons over again, when I told him that Guam (at that time) had been part of the US for almost 100 years, and finally had to tell him I'd report him to ebay if he didn't complete the sale. It didn't cost him any more to ship the product to me, and my mailing address was complete with a US zip code, so I really didn't see the problem.
Oh.......by the time I typed this out, I saw where you'd replied saying you had stated the lower 48. If that's the case, you can back out of the auction, just contact ebay. If you only state USA & Canada, then you're stuck.

PR is a commonwealth. They are not a state. They enjoy all the rights, privileges and freedoms of the US without actually having to pay uncle sam. Pretty good deal.
Well, I know we "won" Puerto Rico from the Spanish, but the residents didn't become US Citizens until 1917. I was in Puerto Rico a little over a week ago, and one of my friends is Puerto Rican. They have all indicated that the US wanted additional resources for the war, so that's why they were made to be citizens. Whether that's true or not, I don't know.
