The performance diffrence between these two machines is extremely diffrent even though the specs aren't much diffrent. When playing TM Nations for example, I get 60fps with the new rig, 35 with the old one. I don't understand why. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Edit: Link problem fixed.

Super efficient dual core AMD vs. super inefficient Net Burst POS P4.

It's not about clock speed.

There are plenty of articles on AnandTech about the difference between the A64 and the P4 (all of them).

Isn't video card more important than cpu for gaming though? The performance on the older computer is really terrible, I had to turn down the graphics for some games, I still haven't played Oblivion on my new computer, I lost the disks somewhere.

You can download an Oblivion image via BitTorrent. It is not copy protected (nice move, IMO).
Assuming, of course, that you have actually purchased the game.

Cool, so I'm allowed to download the game images as long as I own the original copies? There are so many games that were either destroyed or lost. I made personal copies on some games, but not all.
