Why is peeling skin after a good sunburn so much fun?

you get a sound when you peel yourself? eew
i think it's the satisfaction of getting it done and over, versus just letting yourself flake.. that and trying to make the appearance more uniform

me, if it's in a visible place, i try hard NOT to peel and rather whenever it starts to peel/flake, I put lotion on to prevent it. nothing stranger looking than spots of lighter color in what is a normally red/brown area... everyone expects it when sunburnt, but seeing it is kind of.. different. i try as best to avoid peeling, say, on the face and arms.

I love it too, especially on places like my arms where you can see the holes from where your skin is, I like to look at the uniformity of the holes .. . . . ok Im weird

I only get it occasionally (I rarely burn because of my complexion) but boy is it fun.

mine is on my shoulders and i just got a 1.5" square in 1 shot Examined the whole thing for a few seconds

It's been a while since I've had a good burn but I remember thinking it felt cooler on my skin whenever I'd peel some off. Of course that went away in a matter of seconds but those few seconds were glorious.
