Why is Palestine dirt poor while their neighbour Isreal is rich?

I'm just going by the media images I see on the internet. They live side by side but it seems like night and day when you contrast them.

What the hell is going on? Are there any rich people in Palestine?

Palestine started out as dirt ass poor, for the most part. Israeli Jews did stuff to develop Israel, the economy, built schools, hospitals, etc. The Palestinians didn't, so they've pretty much stayed exactly how Palestinians were 10 years prior to the creation of Israel. We've given the Palestinians billions in economic aid and they're pretty content with just taking the welfare and staying dependent.

It's a very good question, without much chance of a good answer.

Think of capital, education, infrastructure, international relations, discrimination, resources, transportation, boycotts, and more.

It is a legit question. Any middle school child should be able to answer that question in one sentence. The answer is simply that one group gets a lot of money, while the other does not.

Why does one group get so much more money than the other? Why have I personally given 100 times more of my own tax dollars to one group, over the other? That is the real question. It is certainly not my choice. Not by a long shot. Just one of the many reasons I see our political system as a total and complete failure. I never voted to give 100x more money to Israelis, so they can use it to frickin crush palestine. I have never, and will not ever EVER vote for such a thing. But most of these minions that vote for Barack J frickin W McObomney, they gladly will donate $50 a year of their tax money for the sole purpose of crushing palestine, and they wont even think twice about it. Hell, they'll also vote to borrow money to give to Israel to crush palestinians. Hell yes. And no one ever questions this, except for the occasional Ron Paul. The question is why can't they seem to use it appropriately. IMO, the answer is clearly their leadership. They steal most of it:

I've long suggested instead of sending them money we invest directly in infrastructure projects such as water/sewer and electricity. Put the Palestinians to work building up there own communities. Not only will they have jobs and money, but develop news skills and create their businesses/companies etc.

A US aide agency should be set up to identify projects, hire Palestinians and disburse the funds itself to prevent the rampant fraud that has been occurring.
