Capitalism is economic liberalism. You really don't read posts, because I already posted this.

LOL... no.

Actually, it's my old Tribes-era gaming name. My clanmates nicknamed me Vicious because of my aggressive 'fools rush in' style, and over time it ended up getting shortened to Vic because my real name is Rick.

I thought it was short for Victoria.

Gotta be honest with you here man, the time has long since passed where you should have stopped posting in this thread in the hopes that it would fall off the front page. The sooner it does that, the sooner people will stop reading the last few pages of you getting owned.

Tribes is still one of my favorite games of all time. I miss it. *sigh*

Alright....my fault Rick.

It's time for me to hit the sack, but I look forward to disagreeing with you on many more political subjects.

Oh yeah, my wife still claims she was a "Tribes widow." :p

Sadly, Tribes 2 sucked and I haven't really gamed much since.

McCain wants more airtime, sure...

Give him all he wants. Like the "Deer in the Headlights" moment when he was asked about Viagra/Birth control. He is so terrified of getting caught without his handlers , he will sink his own campaign.

Those Republicans reactionaries whining should count their blessings that McCain isn't getting that kind of attention. The more attention paid to McCain, the quicker he'll embarrass himself. The lack of attention paid to him has been a boon, as it lets him appear more capable of a candidate than he actually is. Put enough unblinking camera eyes on McCain long enough, and he's going to really screw things up, and look about as bad as Admiral James "Who Am I?" Stockdale, maybe worse.

What these new 21st century Conservatives are complaining about is that Barak Obama is not getting the "Fair and Balanced" coverage, that is the Conservatives' lot on FoxNews.

It has been so long since our lapdog media actually reported facts that these new 21st century Conservatives are not used to straight reporting. If you are a 21st century Conservative, keep hope: Chris Matthews is as vapid as ever, so all is not lost.

Where is Jeff Gannon when you really need him?

Hmm... I wonder if anyone here could name (without google or wikipedia) the first POTUS to ever leave US soil while in office, the circumstances surrounding that, what public reaction was to it, and what it did to his political career?

I'd be happy to PM the answer to a 3rd party first if someone wants to take me up on the challenge. The only hint I'll give upfront is that it paints a very interesting picture as to how much American politics have changed in less than 100 years.

I see the thread totally degenerating from the original question of why the chicken crossed the road.

The end point being, the chicken crossed the road and now is on the other side, don't worry the chicken will go back across the road. And now both chickens will have seen both sides of the road. But don't forget the tale of the blind man and the elephant in terms of the enlightenment factor.

But this thread is now in the silly season pissing contest with whom can come up with the most insulting and complimentary, real or imagined, reasons for the chicken wanting to see what is on the other side of the road. Can some dare hope, that curiosity will kill the cat.

It was Teddy Roosevelt. I have no idea what the public reaction was to it, but he was always sort of a maverick anyway so he probably didn't care.

That, and he continued to give a speech after being shot. TR was a badass.

Nope, not TR. It was Woodrow Wilson. And let's just say that history looks back at him far more kindly than the people of his day thought of him.

But TR went to inspect the Panama Canal? I guess it depends on what you want to call Panama at that time.

Oops... good point. Let me rephrase that to "overseas."

Dog and pony show. The media are going to gobble it up like hotcakes.

All three network anchors going along with him for the entire trip. McCain's overseas trips barely got a blurb. Granted, McCain has made alot of trips to Afghanistan and Iraq already while Obama hasn't been since 2006.

I have no idea why the media is more interested in a presidential candidate visiting Iraq then a presidential candidate visiting Canada and Colombia. I mean that's just crazy. Especially after the McCain camp made such a big deal out of the fact that Obama hadn't visited Iraq. It's a complete mystery to me too. Must be the 'librul media' at work again.

McCain visited Iraq and Israel back in March with barely a word from the media...at least in comparison to the network anchor circus that will follow Obama around.

Ummm...In March, everyone was focused on the Hillary vs Obama fight.
You'll have to come up with better excuses than that.

Now we discover why the Obama chicken crosses the road, he wants to show everyone why the McCain chicken has it all wrong.

I of course refer to a current thread on P&N----Iraqi PM backs Obama's plan for withdrawal
Topic Summary: Ouch McCain.... ouch.

Who knows how many more Obama will collect before he comes home? He may even thaw the ice queen Merkel.
