Why is nothing covered in breaking bad?

So I'm on the third season of breaking bad now. Kinda getting annoyed with how nothing is covered by these peoples insurance plans. Don't government workers have some of the best benefits? Do teacher unions still use HMO's. Again i've always heard teacher unions have good benefits as well. Idk, I guess I'm just /ranting :\
 
They covered this in the show. They wanted the best, but the best weren't covered. He could have gotten treatment from other doctors, but they wanted the best.
