Why is NBC lecturing me on global warming when in the background of every scene of 30 Rock, they have at least one big screen TV on displaying nothing but a logo?

TV is a given...so it doesn't seem hypocritical. In fact if you use a tube they are encouraging to do better.

What?

I am not saying anything about NBC using TV to lecture people about global warming.

What I am asking is why there are large screen TVs in the background only displaying a fictional shows logo in the background of every scene...

If you want me to be green you could at least print out a banner.

Gotta love the cameo by Al Gore. I bet to rode into town on his private jet.

I gotta love how Liberals...

Dude, comprehend. If they encourage you to buy a new TV that new TV will most likely allow you to save more energy over your old TV.

They are helping you if anything, and your original post is complete fail.

Yes, forcing you to pay more for something you neither need nor want is "helping" now ;)

I agree. They could have at least used a green room. I don't see this as a liberal vs conservative issue, though.

The question is do those TVs meet California's new TV Power Usage requirements?

WOW!! Talk about splinter/beam. MAN! Exaggerate the faults in others and ignore your own. I do believe the logo flat screens are only on when they shoot the scene.

For those here who do not understand the concept of "following the money", here it goes.

The NBC network is owned by NBC/Universal which is owned by General Electric. Now General Electric is a huge player in the climate change industry.

For example they are the #1 manufacturer of wind turbines in the US. In order for wind turbines to be economical, they require government subsidies. So for GE to sell more turbines and get more subsidies, it needs to create a mindset among the general populace that these subsidies are necessary due to climate change.

If Cap'n'Trade (better known as Cap and Tax) was implemented, who would run this market. General Electric would as they have positioned themselves in the forefront of the cap and trade movement.

All the Green propaganda is to GE is a means to increase their profit.

It's a big corporation. Of course they are only going to do what's best for their bottom line. However, that doesn't mean the planet should go down hill. It merely means we need to sift through the propaganda and do what really works (which means forcing big polluters to stop polluting, not getting new light bulbs). And that was ManBearPig in an Al Gore skin suit.

I can't stand the big networks promoting "green" it's so fvcking ridiculous. Like those who are trying to push "green RVing" (you know, like a recreational vehicle with beds and things in it).
