Why is my rating low?

I've never looked at my user rating until today, and it's a 4! How exactly does it work? I've only been a member since last May, but I've tried to help people and I haven't been a jerk or anything. What gives? Geez... this is a pretty n00b question... :-D

Anyone that asks "why is my rating low" receives a 1 from me. Congrats !

Really, it doesn't matter for cryin out loud!

There are people that go around just giving 1's to everyone, so who cares.

The rating scale goes from 10 (being the highest) to 1 (lowest). Take it with a grain of salt, though. Some people get their jollies by going around and randomly giving people 1's. Other will get mad at you (for example, if you disagree with something they say) and rate you a 1.

A few, however, will rate you based on merit. On the whole though, don't take ratings too seriously.

Well, my intention was not to change my rating, but rather I was just asking what it was. I can see that curiosity on this board is encouraged, indeed even rewarded, as indicated by my 2.8. 😉

Replace the bold with Paulson and you'll have it right.
