Why is my PCI (not Express) Radeon 7000 so stuttery?

I've got a PCI-E MX400 and a PCI Radeon 7000 that I just installed today.

The PCI-E MX400 is very smooth when scrolling or dragging windows. My PCI Radeon 7000 is VERY stuttery when scrolling or dragging windows.

Anyone know what's going on? Hardware acceleration is on full.

 I don't think so.

Are these in the same system, or two different boxes?

In either case, it's probably a driver issue (either motherboard/chipset drivers, or the graphics drivers themselves). That's usually the case with horribly slow 2D/3D performance.

Probably it isn't running on its accelerated driver at all. Install ATI driver package - mind, you need an older one (6.5 if I remember correctly) because the latest ones don't support the 7000 anymore.

Nevermind, it's all good now, but now there's lag???

If I click and start dragging a scroll bar, it takes like half a second for the window to respond to the scrolling.

It's actually not an MX400. I was confused. It's actually a 6200LE. I generally don't remember the details of my cheapo hardware, just my more expensive ones like my 7900GT.

These are in the same system. I was told they would work fine together, and so far they do.
