Why is my P3 966 not acting like one?

many of them are... CPU, Memory, GPU (Or Video card ;)..), etc...

Sorry Syborg, but these guys are right. While it is fundamentally true that no 2 cpu's are EXACTLY the same, the discrepencies are very low. The big difference as was mentioned above, is in the rest of the components. You will forgive me if I laugh about the friends in Dell and Intel comment. Just because someone works for a particular company does not make them an expert. They mave or may not have an above average knowledge of their company's products or technologies.

now this thread has arose once more, i am going to set a few things straight that i realized after posting,

the guy at dell was talking about overclockability, i just recently asked him again

the guy i know at intel is an accountant there so really they dont know about it

but i am still going to say that i wasn't talking about mhz here. I was talking about the abilities to be benchmarked. They are a little different. The same program should give the same mhz right? but with my sister's comp it reads 5 mhz under 700 which is the speed and for my 700 it reads 703 or something. I dont think that different modems, graphics cards, and other things will affect the cpu speed, but what am i saying? it's a compaq and there is my answer right there, what a piece of junk
