brand new system:

amd 4200+ @ stock 2.2ghz
asus a8n-sli deluxe
wd2500KS 16mbcache 3gig/sec SATA2 HD
1 gig OCZ performance pc3500
BFG 7800GT OC

getting CPU scores lower than people running at 1.8ghz.
I uninstalled the Nvidia IDE drivers and disabled the Nvidia firewall as some forums suggested with no increase, any ideas whats going on here?

no, the overall score is decent, but the cpu score is pathetic. It's barely over what my 2.6ghz 2 year old pentium gets, and Ive seen more than one 1.8ghz amd get a better cpu score than it.

6700+ isnt bad at all

but you have to remember, 3DMark isnt multi-threaded, so the X2 doesnt help at all

also, what display drivers are you using?
try the 77.72 ones, there the newest ones to be 3Dmark certified (can give better results)

yeah i know its not horrible, but when I see someone with a single core processor running the same frequency with double the cpu score it makes me worry... Maybe ill run it again with the affinity set to one core...

and im using the newest drivers
7.7.7.7

Ok, that link works . But, wow...3945 for the CPU score? I mean, granted, the program could be singlethreaded, but that still seems low, even compared to a single core. Even my proc creamed your score for the CPU (course, you completely pwned me on the overall score :p ). I can't remember which benchmark program it was, but one of them tends to favor Intels slightly over AMDs (but it may have been Aquamark, not 3DMark...).

I wouldn't worry too much...After all..3dmark is far from the best CPU benchmark out there.....try other benchmark and come back if you still get low resuilt...

Whew!

When I opened the thread I was thinking "WTF?! Of course this guy is getting low 3D Mark 2005 with a GeForce 4200!"

yeah i updated with the new x2 drivers from amd and getting about 1000 more cpu score. But about 50 lower overall score...
I was hoping to double the CPU score and increase the overall about 500. Very dissapointing.

(edited title to not confuse people, heh)
