My system is 4 hours and 39 minutes and only 18% into a WU
I have version 3.07 my system specs are
P41.6a @ 2400mhz
512 megs of PC2700 333mhz
WinXP

I do have the screen saver set to turn off at 2 minutes

HELP my oul cpu was a tbird and did WUs in around 4 hours.

It sounds as if you are running the GUI client. AFAIK there isnt a CLI version of the 3.07 client, and we all run 3.03 here.

You need to run the CLI client to get back to the fast WU times. Theres a link in my sig 'Join Team Anandtech SETI' - there are instructions there on how to setup the CLI version.

Renob,

I've had a similar problem with a combo I bought from one of our members. Some suggestions that should always be followed:

[*]Switch to cli version of SETI@Home
[*]Set Screensaver to blank
[*]Turn off / disable power management in BIOS
[*]Set power management in WinXP to "Always on" - see Power Options in Control Panel
[*]Tweak memory settings in BIOS to best possilble setting for your memory - setting very with BIOS

It was taking 9h45m per WU with an Athlon 1800+. I tried everything you can imagine. I finally changed the mobo and the time dropped to below 4 hours. (non-oc'ed) I have no idea what is going on with my board as Sandra benchmarks seem fine. 😕
