Why is my internet conection soooo slooowww?

.....it shows a steady 14.4 kbps so what could be the problem?

Ok, so it's on my Laptop with a Sprint phone.... It sure beats no internet at all!

I'm in Indianapolis in a motel room btw and live near St. Louis Missouri.

For anyone in a similar situation it is a decent alternative and I get my dose of Anandtech Forums on a daily...or should I say offpeak...basis.

Now, if I can get PC Anywhere working.....
