Why is my IE5.5 getting slower and slower?

:disgust:
It seems it is getting slower and slower. Foe some reason IE 'halts' for a second or two when browsing (not all pages), for example AT.
Is the code 'self-decomposing'

Mine started doing that too. I posted once before and got a couple possible fixes, none worked.

I believe what someone posted that IE is a resource hog. I always started out with no hesitation, but after visiting additional web sites it would get slower and slower.

My solution is Netscape 6.2 I loaded that and have not regretted it, much smoother.

Try clearing your IE cache and check for temp files in \windows\temp\. I have found hundreds of temp files from IE and when I delete them IE seems to run faster.

Sometimes the Internet history pages setting are too big and it stores too much stuff. This will take longer to search thru.
