The HDD light on my case is lit constantly and no matter if there is disk activity or not. The hard drive is working fine, so I do not think that is a problem. Is there something on the motherboard that could have shorted out causing a voltage to be constantly supplied to the LED. Also, is this something that could grow into a larger problem?

Edit: After removing the secondary IDE cable, that had nothing connected to it, the light went back to working normally. Actually, the secondary IDE cable had a Zip drive and CD-ROM connected to it but they were not connected to the PS.

Does your "power" LED flicker on and off? ;)

Could just be that it's on the wrong motherboard header. Check that first.

you probably connected the HDD LED to the Power Header on the MOBO. have you ever removed the connectors that hook up to the motherboard? if so that is probably what has happened if not then i am not sure.

Everything was fine and working properly before this morning. Now, this morning the light stays on constantly. I have not moved anything around recently either.
