Why is my HD going NUTS for no reason!?

WinME likes to go crazy on my hard drive for no reason what so ever. It seems like 10-15min after I get done using the computer there will be MAJOR hard drive activity for about 15sec. I just emptied my recycleing bin and after it got done deleating the files the hard drive won't stop accessing.... It's been going on for over 5 min now of NON STOP accessing.

Also this strange program called Winmgmt keeps on apearing in my program menu (ctl-alt-del)

WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON! This thing just won't stop accessing the hard drive! Is it some automated defrag program or something? I know Word includes some speed drive thing...

Help!

Bart

Did you set a small virtual memory drive? If so, it's probably swapping memory like hell. The same thing happens to me when I use Win98Se. Have you tried defragging your drive?
