Installed my new 7800gt from eVGA tonight, and one of the first things I checked after installing the 78.01 drivers was the temp, to compare to my old 6800gt. It showed 31c, which at the time I thought was frickin' amazing. No colors even registered on the little meter, so I figured I was doing A ok.
After benchmarking a bit with 3DMark05, I went to see what the temp was looking like, and alas, still 31c. So I've either got one hell of an overclocker on my hands due to low temps, or something is busted.
So, which do ya think? Drivers or busted temp diode on the card? I wouldn't even think about sending this thing back for such a petty thing (and something I'll never look at), but I'd still like to know what the issue is.
