why is my cpu temperature reading so high when running graphics application ?

Ok, here is the system :
PIII-700e flipchip on MSI slotket.
Asus P3v4x
Elsa Gladiac
Fong Kai FK320

When the cpu is idle, my cpu temp is
around 42 C, case temp is 32 C
(its summer here)

Then I run rc5 (cpu intensive),
cpu temp rise to 56 C
(still ok).

But when I run some demo from my elsa
gladiac or any graphic intensive application,
my cpu temp goes as high as 90 C !!!
Why ? The strange thing is : its only
appears when I run graphics intensive application.

Is the cpu temperature reading messed up ?
(I am using pc probe which came with asus
p3v4x).

And the cooling I have golden orb on the chip.
The problem appears even if I am running
the chip at 700MHz.

Is this ok ?

 
Its just a glitch in the Asus pc probe, no uncommon. Had similar problems on the K7M. A 90C operating temp would force the cpu to shut down.
