WHy is my CPU restarting every 1 hour? Help please

Someone please help me, my cpu will restart on the hour. If I turn it on at 1:15, it will restart at 2:15, and then once its back up and at my desktop at about 2:18, it will restart at 3:18. Its weird! It just restarts itself, at one point I saw a blue screen for 1/4 of a second. Does any one know what the problem is? It is very annoying and I dont know what to do. I can not pinpoint which drive its on, I have 3 of them, C - which was my old WIndows 98 os, D - which is my 20 gb, Widnwos 2000 PRofessional drive, which i use everyday as I no longer ever use Windows 98 even tho its still available to use. E drive is for storage mainly. What should I do, many people say to reformat it, but I dont know how to pinpoint it to a drive or what the exact problem is. Could it be a virus? Any virurses do this? I dont see any other symptom,s, just a restart. Please tell me what I should do. Thanks.

if its happening every hour on the hour exactly it has to be either a power saving bug/feature out of whack or a Virus.. run a virus scan

It might be some divine intervention telling you to use your computer less 🙂.

J/K.

Not sure if this will help completely, but if it is a virus, it can either use the BIOS clock as a gauge, or it's own internal timer on startup. When your computer restarts the next time, get the time down. When it approaches that time, set the windows time back about 10 minutes or so, see if that makes a difference. If it reboots accordingly to your time adjustment, then it's either a BIOS virus, or some really funky registry corruption. If it still boots regardless of your time change, then you're most likely being infected with a virus that has it's own time gauge.
