Why is my 'copied' image about 5% smaller than the original when using my Acer 620p scanner?

When I use my 'copier' feature with my scanner, the printed result is about 5% smaller. Not to mention the thick black border around the document. Is there any way to correct this? It's just kind of irritating.

This used to be the standard way to prevent Xerox dollar bills from going through a coin changing machine.

My scanner does that too. Don't use the copier button. Use the regular scanning software feature. It will analyze the scan, and detect the actual size of the object scanned. Not scan the whole surface of the glass, including the wasted area.

It was very annoying to try and use this scanner like that and have this big black border, and it also be smaller than it should.
