I'm using driver Forceware 77.77 now, but when I play games such as Halo, it causes lag randomly. It's like video freeze/sound lag for couple seconds. Hmmmm...I'm using an on-board sound though. I even tried using a Sound Card but the freezing still happen.

So I suspect it's my video card. When I was using the 66.93 driver, everything is okay. But I still don't get my my 6800 don't like 77.77 driver.

Well sounds like you found the problem. If it works with the other drivers fine, its obviously a driver issue. Stop using the ones that dont work.

But how come other people with similar spec as me can use the newer driver just fine with out freeze/sound lag? Is it "each computer is different"?

Yea, my mobo is a Nforce 3.

Thanks for pointing that link out. I though it was my graphic card that starting to act up. No wonder when I use the beta 81.xx driver, I don't get the lag but when I use 7x.xx, I get lag. Thanks again.

I didnt get a chance to test the 80.xx drivers yet but it is good to see the issue went away.
I was completely baffled by the problem for about 2 months until I decided to put my foot down. At first I thought it was just BF2, but then every game I played had the same problem. Eventually after reading a few threads I decided it had to be the 70.xx series drivers. Sure enough I went back to the 66.93's and the issue went away. I installed the 70 series drivers when I tried the BF2 demo. No idea wtf they were doing in the 70 series but it really hurt the combo of NF3 + 6800 series. Interestingly enough the 6600 is not affected by it.

Yea, I even reinstall my Window and everything yesterday. Then I install 77.77 driver fresh to see what happen and the problem of freezing/sound lag in all games are still there. So I go back to 66.93 and no problem at all. What bothers me is that when I play Fable:TLC with 66.93, then it would freeze my machine. If I upgrade to beta 8x.xx driver, then Fable still have the sluttering/freezing/sound lag like you and I have. But I guess I have to screw Fable and keep 66.93 instead since I had no problem at all with it.

Hopefully 8x.xx will be more stable than 7x.xx, but I doubt nVidia...

Not familiar with Fable so I cant comment. I do hope they fix this issue with the 80 series drivers. This is the first time I have ever had a major issue like this with an nvidia driver and hope it is the last.
