When i run 3dmark2001 , My v5 is only reporting 32megs of ram, and i am getting a score of just over 1000 with an AMD 1.4 athlon and 256 megs of ram. What am i doing wrong?? Mobo is a K7S5A and am totally baffled...... Am running XP, with the drivers dnloaded for my Video from 3dfx.com

Any help here would be apprecaited. Other systems comparable to mine are getting 2000+

Have you installed the VIA 4in1 driver? That might be a cause. Is AGP 4x on in bios? Also what level of antialiasing are you using? Probably most of those 2000+ are running with no antialiasing (best performance).

Either drivers or hardwarefailure.try to reinstall the videodrivers and be sure youhave the corrwect drivers ´for your mobo.
Then you should be fine

Where are you getting the information about the available memory for the V5 that you have ? Remember that the V5 runs as two processors with two memory banks of 32 megs each - of course running in tandem. Are the other systems you mention also running Windows XP ?

Also the maximum AGP speed a V5 can supposedly run at is AGP 2X.😉
