Why is my AIM unstable?

I keep signing on and off every min to 5 mins constantly whenever i am on.

I doubt it is my connection because everything else is ok.

not really an OS question but i doubt youd get better answers in the software forum anyway. AIM has just gone to crap for some reason. it kicks on and off over and over. the worst thing is that when i get kicked off, i cant tell that im kicked off. it looks like im still on but no new messages will go through and already open IM window conversations look like im talking to people that dont respond. everyone else knows im offline but me.
