I just recieved my XFX 7970 today, and I had high hopes. As of right now I am very happy with it. It runs benchmarks no problem, like some simple stress testing, or "catzilla", or 3Dmark 11. It runs all of my games perfectly, its an amazing card. But for some odd reason it just starts failing and causing a huge crash when I do the windows experience index, and only this. I dont really pay much attention to the windows experience index, but I just find it really odd that my new card does everything else perfect, but when it comes to this it just crashes. It kind of goes like this. I dont remember the test it fails at, but what it does is odd. It just blinks on and off every few seconds, with my primary monitor as a grey screen, and my secondary as just my normal background. It then can get grey/white lines while blinking on and off. So you can imagine it looks pretty weird. After doing that for about 30 seconds it just blue screens and on the next boot my graphics card still runs the same way it did before. Anyone have a reason or answer to why this would happen?

Check to make sure your windows copy is active. I changed some hardware during the upgrade and had the same issue. Once I called India and got it corrected the experiance thing work.
