Why is Mitsubishi doing so bad? Some facts?

Is it GM with desperately trying to sell cars with employee discount?
How about Mitsubishi? Are they out of slump yet?
How about Ford? I never see any of their new cars on the road. (ie Freestyle)

Volkswagen? Speculations please.

was looking into buying a galant for the wife last year...we stopped by the dealership on Friday night and told them we would come back on Saturday...

the next day, the headlines of the business section in Dallas had an article on disusing how long Mitsubishi was going to be around...we took that as a sign and got a nissan for her instead....
