Why is it

Why is it that on some videos I play in Windows Media Player it wont let me skip around on the video. Such as start at a minute and skip to 16 it won't let me. But on other videos it will. Why does this happen?

thanks

I'll try VLC and let you know if it works or not. Also the video isn't incomplete, I just downloaded it and its been done for about 6 hours.

its quite rare to find those videos but once in a while i have come across them...really pain in the ass then, although im not sure why it doesnt let u skip. probably due to some corruption!! 😕

i'm not sure this applies, but many audio files are not seekable. it's up to the creator of the file. 2 files with the same extension (.shn for example) one seeks, the other doesn't. maybe the same thing is happening here.

i use GSPOT to check file quality, it picks out corrupt files immediately.
