Why is it that the church and state are seperate in the constitution but the govt added "under god" to the pledge of alegance and "in god we trust" to money?😕
 
To put it in a nutshell, its because our country, while being formed with church and state seperate, was based on puritan values. These things were decided in a time where there were few radically different religions.
 
Because back when people actually for the most part believed in God, society wasn't as @#($*(@ up as it is these days.
