Why is it that the ONLY spam I get is in Korean?

I don't get much spam. The spam I do get though, seems to be all Korean. How do these Korean sites/spammers get my email address?

For instance... I was looking for sites which sold ink cartridges, and now I get spam from korean inkjet re-sellers.
I've gotten spam from Korean credit card people. (or some sort of card)

I do NOT sign up for iffy newsletters, anything of that sort. How do they get my email, and is there anything I can do short of adding them to my Junk Email Sender list in Outlook? (which I do now)

anyone experience anything similar?

Are you Korean? I have never gotten any and I am just wondering if you ever checked a box somewhere or stated that you were Korean. You may have signed up for email, registered, or done something like that at a primarily Korean targeted site in the past.

I get some stupid $hit sometimes too, that makes no sense for me to get. Heck, I just got something about losing hair, probably because I said I was "Mr" on some website registration. They sell those lists like crazy, even when somebody sends you one of those "online cards" they get your email from the person that sent the darn thing.

I am not Korean. I am a white boy from Pennsylvania. :p

I know I did not sign up for ANYTHING Korean related, visited ANY Korean sites, or claimed to be Korean in any type of survey, etc.

It's just very strange to me.

Hey, I'm on the same mailing list! And no, I'm not Korean. If you are using something like OE that renders HTML email, the spam is at least more attractive and cool looking than most other spam I get. One of the repeat things I get seems to be a site for escort services. Dunno how I get that. Never been in need of a paid date.

There are a number of large spam shops setup in various strange places on the world. I personally block all .kr, .br, and .ru mail from reaching me. That cuts my spam in half, my filters get another good chunk.
