that's what happens when the OP flames every response.

I thought this was some sort of joke/ parody given the mindless retorts of the OP

How can someone ask a question as valid as was stated and then end up being so ignorant and arrogant

don't try to argue with him. he's just a fanboy that doesn't know much about college football:)

Or a troll just looking to elicit a response.
I would never attempt something so childish

Well the way that you immediately attempt to disparage and dismiss any fact-based points that are made to disprove your idea that Purdue is a great college football program would lead people to think otherwise.

Really? That certainly was not my intention.

You are showing your age (or more precisly, you lack of age). Overtime is a relatively new invention. It came around in the mid-90s. Any college team with any type of history will have double digit ties.

When I think of the best college football programs, I think of:

Michigan
Oklahoma
Texas
Florida State
Ohio State

This is Purdue's record by year. Defintely not "great".

Dude, they have one 10 win season. What are you talking about, that's beastly....;)

purdue is a crappy school with a crappy team. i wouldn't even mention the words "purdue" and "college football" in the same sentence. its not even in the the top 25 in football. maybe its in the top 25 in "assmongering"

Any individual even remotely interested in college football would know what sciencewhiz later pointed out.

For those unaware (or possibly those who may have forgotten), one of the more if not most memorable ties in NCAA history.

A&M just started that this season and Im not sure if it will continue, Coach Fran did it to send a message to players.

Id say A&M is a top program and will only get better since this years recruiting class is really starting to shape up nicely, and actually has a chance to being as good or better than Texas' recruiting class. As long as Coach Fran stays A&M will only get better. On the other hand, I have no idea why Texas locked Mack Brown into a 10 year contract. 5 years maybe. But 10? Sure he won the Rose, but he cant be OU, and will never win a national title.

um, up to a few years ago, college football games ended in ties. Go do some research.

I know this too well as back in 1987 Syracuse went 11-0 then played Auburn with their National Championship hopes at stake in the Sugar Bowl. Auburn's coach Pat "Tie" Dye went for the field goal to tie instead of the win so Syracuse went 11-0-1 costing them the National title.

ASU lost their quarterback (Walter - 30TD/9Int in '04) to injury in that game, and only lost by one TD. The only other teams they lost to were Cal and USC. And Arizona was better than their record would lead you to believe. They played Utah better than Pitt and lost to Wisconsin by only 2. Next year UA will be top 25 by the end of the season. This was their first year in a new system.

NOTE: I did not attend ASU or UA.
