Why is it that people who use WalMart restrooms

Not sure why Wal-Mart is being singled out here... in my experience this applies to most fast food places, many non-fast food restaurants, most gas stations, all rest stops, and really just about any sort of public restroom.

I singled out Walmart because it is by far THE worst for leaving waste sitting in toilets.
Out of all the fastfood places, gas stations, malls, rest areas etc i have been to walmart is the most disgusting.

There's always this classic: Clog toilet with <insert gross object or material here> and the jam the flush lever so that the toilet runs constantly and floods the bathroom.

lol.....i also work at the ymca and hate it so much i pee on the shower knobs(where you ajust how hot/cold it is)

Not sure if this applies to every store, but some have automatic flush. However, it doesn't always work, and there usually isn't a manual button or lever either.

But they flush so hard that sometimes the stuff you put in the toilet pop out back at you...

I'm not amazed that you're grossed out by it... I would be too.
That's why for years, my motto has been to walk in, use urinal, leave. I touch absolutely nothing with my hand, including the sinks (I don't pee on my hand, so that's not an issue. It's sterile anyway)

You guys must live near bad wal marts. All the ones near here are always very tidy. They've all got the automatic flusher things though so I suppose that could add to it.

Having worked at a theme park, I could tell you some horror stories that female co-workers would share about the public women's restrooms.

You mean like the time a customer at a restaurant I used to manage, took a dump and placed it inside the liquid soap dispenser? I can't tell you how many people commented on the tan-colored soap before we figured out what had happened.

Lesson learned: Take handiwipes with you!

Try a women's restroom (with 10 stalls) covered in blood, blood EVERYWHERE. And just any blood, the blood that women have once a month type blood. In addition, used "female products" are stuck everywhere imaginable.

We actually closed the bathroom and had groundskeeping come in with a firehouse to wash it down. It was that bad.

when i was a busser at a local restaurant, I was told there was an accident in the bathroom by my manager, and we both went in there, to discover what was later to be discovered the entire contents of a colostomy bag all over the bathroom. the stall (on toilet and on floor), on the walls, all over the sink area, and even a little bit on the carpet outside the bathroom.
stupid old man went and cleaned up in the womens bathroom i guess then. i think that was fine though. my manager tackled most of the bathroom, I was mostly there for emotional support. lmao
eeew it was soo horrid, that image will be plastered in my head for what I think will be forever. i guess it cleared my manager's stuff nose up.

I am sorry to post this but as a person that has spent half his lifetime in Western Europe and the other half in the U.S., I'll have to say it has something to with culture. People here don't care I guess. In Germany, Switzerland, etc., we'd drive through mountains and we'd stop by this restaurant in the middle of nowhere and even there the restrooms would be almost as clean as the ones at home. You could go to any supermarket (tegut, Ja, Real, Carrefour) and the restrooms would be 10x better than the average in U.S. One other thing, through all the years I lived there, I have never seen anyone exit the restroom without washing their hands, even if with just water. I am amazed here in the U.S. when people in restaurants (!!!! you are gonna eat damnit !!!!), bars, shops, and even in the office don't wash their hands. Disgusting. One last thing is the way this is approached by governments. In Germany, you can't find a dirty restroom in a government building. They'll be extremely bright, clean, water will always work, and will always have seat covers. God forbid you have to go to the restroom in a city building in NYC. Even worse? In Washington DC. Try going to the DMV. OMG, roaches everywhere in the frickin restroom, circling around someone's waste! EWWWWWWWWWWWW!
