I was at work tonight, and I had gotten off a little early, so I was talking to one of my friends about how some guy (when they were in the bar) just grabbed his girlfriends ass out of nowhere. So we had a conversation about how there aren't many guys that respect women as much as they should, then a few minutes later, one of the girls from another department came up to us and said that one of the janitors just grabbed her ass twice... I was pissed, and I would have gone after the guy, but then I realized that he could get in a lot of trouble, so I told her to tell the manager and get him fired. Why don't some men respect women? It really really pisses me off that they don't.

A guy grabbing his girlfriend is disrespectful? My girlfriend and I grab each other all the time without warning or permission. It's called fun. A lot of you need to have some.

i have a question though.
is it sexual harassment when a girl fondles a guy?
i used to work at a fast food place in High School. And this girl (she was pretty attractive but not hot) used to grab my ass and put her hands around my waist. i tried to avoid her but she thought i wanted it. i laughed it off because i didn't want to look like a pu55y, but i was not attracted to her (she even had a boyfriend at the time). In retrospect, I didn't feel very comfortable. I think I should have done something, but what can a guy do?
It is unwarranted, and it qualifies as sexual harassment. I would've made it clear that I was uncomfortable, and if she continued doing it, I would've reported her to my higher ups.
you're right. but damn that would have been embarrasing, and when you're 16 and full of male ego, it just makes it that much more difficult (considering word would have gotten back to HS that i'm a pu55y). In any case, in a weird way, it doesn't bother me as much as it would have probably bothered a girl had the roles been reversed. its kind of like being a guy, we are expected to be the ones to do that stuff, and when it gets switched on us, it gets a bit confusing.

Your question presumes there was a time when men respected women. The question is whether or not that presumption is correct. Why is it that Guys don't respect Women anymore?

But it is true that women do not "make" guys respect them as much. 'Make' is probably not the right choice of words, you can't 'make' anyone do anything. More like elicit or evoke a desired response from others. Not much different than how a police officer's demeanor AND appearance (uniform) can elicit or evoke respect from others.
Have respect for yourself and others will have respect for you. Of course, that isn't perfect, there are always those who are going to hold preconceived notions of the way people should be treated as a class or group. But many many others, probably most people, 'feed' from that outward appearance and those 'signals' a person gives off; body language, dress, demeanor, articulateness, etc.
Women's 'lib' has come with uintended consequences. A lot more women are using their new 'freedom' to dress and behave like trashy sluts, and guess what...they're responded to accordingly. I'm continually appauled at how MOTHERS allow their 13 and 14 year old daughters to dress in public.
I'm not saying its right or wrong, I'm saying its the reality. Should women be able to go out in public wearing only a couple peanut shells and rubber bands and be treated with the same respect as a woman who dresses in a more respectable manner? In a perfect world, probably, yes.
Similarly, I should be able to walk down the street of any gang-infested inner city neighborhood at any time of the day or night without the risk of being shot or beaten or stabbed to death. But guess what, I'm not going to thumb my nose at reality just so I can demonstrate my belief in some 'lofty' ideal.

And you're right, it happens a lot.
I'll tell you something though, if anyone ever did that to someone i cared about, they'd better watch out for a swinging machete.
