Why is it so hot!?

I'm running my tbred B 2200+ @ 2.0Ghz

It's 44C, that's 14C above case temps (30C)!

Yes it's OC'd but I'm cooling it with a slk-900u + 50cfm Fan

I have used both AS3 and Ceramique! WHAT the hell! Guess I'll just reapply the AS3 again.

What I neglected to mention was that non OCd, I only got a 2C drop changing from "Volcano 7+ Silent" to slk-900U + 50cfm fan

EDIT: 1.7volt, I think I can run it default @ 2ghz but I like to be on the safe side

No I got a 2C drop when changing HSF.

1.700 Vcore, @2ghz, slk-900 = 44C

Default Vcore, Default SPD, slk = 40C

Default Vcore, Default SPD, Volcano 7+ Silent = 42C

EDIT: WHat the heck are your temps beatle (checked your tbred system)??

I think one problem may be that your comparing your temp readings to those that come from other motherboards. If you have that slk-900 installed correctly with a correct installation of AS (I would use the Ceramique myself) then just accept them as good temps.

The only other factor that would affect your temps is the ambient temperature in your room and how good your case cooling is.

An example of this, I just changed motherboards (nothing else) and went from a Epox 4g4a+ to a Abit IC7. I have the same chip running at the same speed (definately a poor overclocker as it hits the same speed on 3 separate platforms now) at the same approximate vcore. The temps on this IC7 consistantly read ~5C higher than my Epox.

There is great variance in how motherboards read temps. Just make sure you are doing everything correctly and accept your temps as normal.

your complaining about 40c~ temps? ack! with a 50cfm fan? what are you gaining besides a headache from the noise when it would probably still be stable at a slightly higher temperature.
