Why is it so hard to get your credit report?

It's my 3rd attempt, and there is always something that they aren't happy about. They always want some extra information. It's either send them a copy of my drivers license, or my last paycheck or both. Why can't I just fill in my information online, and have the report delivered to me???

I'm pretty sure they'll ask for something else again. And the funny thing is I can't send them a copy of my drivers license cuz it still has my parents address on it, wherein I've had my own place for a while now, and I used this address for all my credit transactions.

They didnt ask me for copies of anything. You enter in all your info online, then it verifies you, then you're on your way. :)

Perhaps that is causing them to be suspicious of you. Explain this in writing and see where you get.

It sounds like either they have an incomplete credit profile for you which is missing some information --or-- the information you are providing does not match up with the credit bureau's information. Just like salary, credit is a very personal topic (yet people create credit threads here all the time, hehe) so they want to ensure that you are who you say you are. I have never had any problems ordering my credit, nor has my sister or my friends. I say follow through with their requests, keep a record of all the letters, calls, e-mails and faxes to the credit bureau agencies so you have a papertrail and HOPE that eventually they get their act together.
