i want to quit working at this supermarket and work on campus with less hours.

I want to work in a field that relates to my major.... i don't care what it is.... even cleaning lab supplies, whatever it is.

but with all these other college students,,, it's probably really hard to find a job. I haven't "seriously" searched nor asked around yet.... but how do i find a part-time job on campus??? My major is Biology, btw.

I feel like I am not a good candidate for some reason... maybe people feel like they can't trust me or something... the way i look. I dunno. 🙁

clean yourself up, wear some decent clothes, and go introduce yourself to the professors in the biology dept. to see if they need any assistants. it's easy, and you never know who may need help...

It is generally easy, you just have to look and apply early.

is it too late? classes started on monday... so a week already went by. Damn i want a new job .... hopefully working with marine animals or something. that would be so cool.

Pull your pants up above your ass, take a bath, comb your hair, scrape the pizza droppings off your tshirt................and you still won't get a job on campus because you aren't with the "in" crowd. Suck it up and keep bagging those groceries for welfare moms with 6 screaming brats. It's the best you can ever hope for.😛

it's just so hot over here in Florida... I can't wear anything but atheltic shorts... and a T-shirt. I sweat my ass off just walking to class. I need to find the time though,,, that's the problem. Either I go to school early in the morning before my classes start or call a day off from work.

is there anything that would lead you to believe it is hard? becuase from your post, it doesn't sound like you've done anything...

look in the student newspaper, sign up to undergrad email lists, ask people, etc.

It seems there are tons of jobs for students on large campuses, but they go fast and are often hard to find out about. I suggest trying to meet some professors first. Also, look around in buildings/offices related to what you want to do and maybe check out your adivsors office as well.

not sure what its like at other schools,--- but Students with more financial aid needs had first priority to work study jobs on campus at my college.
