Why is it so fun to tap out beats while music is playing? or just playing air <insert instrument here> even though it's totally useless....

The other day, I saw a guy in his vehicle tapping out beats on his steering wheel with actual drum sticks at the traffic light. I thought his airbag was going to explode. :Q
