Well,

For what it?s worth, my company just announced, to us, that they are going to let go another 2,800 people by the 1st of January. The new initiative is called ?Rightsizing?.

I don?t feel that I?m going want to make this one so it?s resume time again. Oh well 28 ½ years working in the Telecommunications Industry hasn?t been so bad.

My only problem is what do I want to do next and how do I get there. Actually that?s quite a question and most of my retired friends don?t know which direction to go either.

In today?s environment nothing looks inviting or secure. Secure being defined as any desirable job lasting over a year.

There's work everywhere. The more people you know, the more work you'll get. Most of you never leave the fvcking house, so how do you expect to get a job?

Clearly the best option is #1.
Perhaps for many people the best option is to do #2 while doing #1.
How much does the average person have saved up to live on while they hunt for a job?

I couldn't have said it better myself. Plus, you can't use the the traditional means for landing your job. If you read about a company that's hiring - so has 50,000 other people -- and you can bet at least 3,000 of them will be standing in line outside the door along with you.
