Why is Intel vc820 borads are so cheap?

Overpriced, underperforming memory technology.. i815 can sometimes be faster than i820-based boards, while using dirt-cheap SDRAM.

They're stable as hell, though, but if you must spend $400 for 512mb RAM, while you can get 512mb PC133 or PC2100 Crucial for $130 shipped, it renders the board a little undervalued...

Cause nobody want's an 820 board that uses still expensive RDRAM. If it wasn't for the P4 Rambus memory wouldn't be selling period. Plus I don't remember any 820 based boards being overclockers, so the majority of the people that freqent this message board wouldn't touch one of those boards with a 20 foot pole.

Oh, I think the Asus P3C-E would be a decent overclocker, judging by the prowess of the P4T... Someone was selling a P3C-E in the For Sale forums that he used to take a P3-750 up to 1 ghz several months ago, a feat impressive at the time.
