Why is IMing quicker than Email?

GMail and Google Talk are quite integrated. You can use Google Talk from your Inbox page, and the chats are saved in your Inbox when using both the dedicated client and the one built into GMail.

ok, so it seems like its more of a client issue, when talking about the convenience of email.
if your email client refreshed automatically,this wouldnt be an issue.

Gmail refreshes frequently I believe.
Other e-mail clients don't.

But why would you want your e-mail to act like an IM program ? Just use an IM program.
