Why is IE 5.5 opening in the wrong window. This is frustrating.

I have AnandTech going in one window but I want to check something in another windows so I open a new IE and it comes up with my default home page so I then goto favorites and choose the website to open but it opens in in the other browser that I have Anandtech in it and the second window stays at my homepage, this is so frustrating. WHY? how can I force it to open in the same window.

you just might need to A) restart IE B) restart comp.


or clear your internet temp folder and stuff, clear you cache too.

Grab the Anandtech URL from window#1, insert in window#2, proceed to open from favorites in window#1.

I dumped 5.5 and went back to 5, but mostly use Netscape, sorry.

btw it only does this at work on Win2k but it doesn't do it on Win98, stupid IE. what they should have done is when you have one window open you would goto favorites press the Shift Key and click on the link to open a new window with that link. AAARRRRR. I should goto Microsoft, first I'd fire the entire Windows Media Player staff, second I'd shakeup the IE staff, then I'd go see Balmer slap him a few times, then Bill shake his pockets a little and the slap him around a little.

How much you wanna bet if you dump IE 5.5 you won't have that problem?
