Why is GameStop charging $50 less for the 160Gb PS3? ($200 vs. $250)

"Save $50 on any new PS3 and choose a FREE copy of Batman: Arkham City or Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition"

Don't get your undies in a twist

Places that sell things sometimes have special deals.

$50 off a brand new console, plus your choice of one of two new games, no strings attached, is a pretty damn good (and rare) deal for Gamestop.

Yeah...not sure who that was in response to, but I don't see anyone getting their undies in a twist?

the ps3 just gets better and better, thats 100 less than i paid for my xbox. for 200 thats a steal , casual gamers to should jump all over this

That's a great deal at $200 with a game -- it's a good game console, blu-ray / DVD player, plus it streams Netflix and Amazon Prime videos.

I was at gamestop today and they were offering a free game and a case with a purchase of a PS Vita too.

Damn, I might have to finally buy a PS3.

Double damn, it will even let me choose the Arkham City for 360 when I'm buying a PS3. I was gonna pick that up anyway. Major score.

According to most people here, Gamestop is evil. So, I am sure it is some plot to take over the world, or at least rape some poor video game company.

a lot of times manufacturers and retailers will work out a discount. TV's and other electronics this happens all the time. around july/august you can see the same TV rotating sale prices around different retailers

if sony is trying to push these watch other retailers offer the same price after the gamestop deal is over

I like how everyone jumped on OP for a legitimate question.

Console prices are practically price fixed; I probably would've asked if anything fishy was going on if I saw a brand new Wii with two games sold for 100 bucks.
