Why is Febreze in everything?

A long time ago I bought Febreze scented trash bags because they were on sale, and the sickeningly sweet smell it put in our kitchen put us off of that product forever.

So more recently I picked up a couple of boxes of Swiffer dusters at Target, and didn't notice until I got them home that they were Febreze scented. I thought it wouldn't be too bad since you throw them away, but that smell lingered on whatever was dusted with it! [where's the vomiting smilie?]

Fortunately the good folks at Target took back the opened box and we got our money back.

So now I look more carefully at consumables, and I'm being wary of that ominous Febreze logo. :colbert:

Thought Febreeze was more or less neutral scented aside from the more recent additions to the line. In any case, I don't buy many scented products. They're universally bad, and if I want a scent, I'll add my own high quality scent. My trashbags smell like groceries.

Blame the consumer. It was originally invented but didn't sell. Add a scent and boom.

I bought Febreze™ Greek Seaside air freshener without a trial sniff. Turns out it smells like baby wipes and I'm regretting teh purchase. True story. Now, it could be that the coastline of Greece truly smells of baby wipes, but that's not a scent I want in my home.

Even before Febreze the odor blocking trash bags stunk. They claimed to be unscented but the workers at the company had just gotten used to the smell.

Because some people smoke cigarettes. My wife does and we live a Febreze lifestyle for that reason.

The greastest con in the world is getting people to buy something that is unscented. They'll never know the difference !

Guys like it, because they don't get yelled at so often, if they neglect to take out the trash.
