Why is everything so expensive?

Back in 2003 I bought a used 2001 Ford Focus w/ 25000 miles for 6200. Now I can't find a focus with less than 85000 miles for 7000; Everything is so expensive

The economy is booming, exploding even. And you will see that in consumer goods.

Do you guys ever take economics into account? People are looking for fuel efficient cars due to the high price of gas so naturally demand forces the prices for used economy cars up to meet demand. Would you sell your car for $6K if you could get $7K just as easy? Of course you wouldn't.
