why is everyone so pissed off?

because they forget how good they have it and how lucky they are. They are upset because they don't have enough stuff, their house is not big enough, etc.
They forget to appricate that they are there, in that space, alive, breathing, free. They forget to be greatful to live in a free country. They forget they have food to eat for dinner that night.
 
Hmm, weird... I usually find the trend to be the opposite, I usually see people smile and wave at me and I have no idea why, kinda scares me really.... I mean sure I smile and wave back but generally I encounter happy people. 😕

I could have sworn you lived in NJ, and I figured that would be the explanation... I love NJ, but so many people who live here piss me off to no end, especially people in cars.

Fortunately I drive less than a half hour a day, or I'd have ulcers like nobody's business.

While you're right that the perpetual pursuit of bigger & better makes people more unhappy than happy, I don't think that these things or their remembrance alone can make people happy. I think it has more to do with how we treat each other.

Many of us can't even love our own spouses -- is it any surprise then that we're unhappy in general dealing with random strangers, ATOT posters, co-workers, bosses, etc.?

All we need is love..
 
Im actually really happy at the moment for some reason, even though im swamped in school and unemployed 🙂
