Hmm, weird... I usually find the trend to be the opposite, I usually see people smile and wave at me and I have no idea why, kinda scares me really.... I mean sure I smile and wave back but generally I encounter happy people.

I think Lolawiz has it right, though I would say it's because the world isn't what they want it to be, so they pout.

While you're right that the perpetual pursuit of bigger & better makes people more unhappy than happy, I don't think that these things or their remembrance alone can make people happy. I think it has more to do with how we treat each other.

Many of us can't even love our own spouses -- is it any surprise then that we're unhappy in general dealing with random strangers, ATOT posters, co-workers, bosses, etc.?

All we need is love..
